This game is by the creator of The Repairing Mantis, so as you can expect, things get quite disturbing and there's a lot of subtext for what's really going on. It goes without saying, it's not just a game about a hungry fly! π
OH GREAT ANOTHER WALKING SIMULATOR. is this the standard for "horror" games nowadays? just code a walking guy and put some dialogue that doesn't make sense
If I had to guess, the protag is a childkiller. The caterpillars were children killed before they could turn into butterflies. They were all hurt. He took their yoyos and lollypops so that the memory of his killing would live on. The items are trophies. The bear wants a friend is symbolic of a predator trying to form a semblance of a relationship but ultimately consuming the "friend". As for the phone, the police was on his trail. They called to ask if he knew about the missing kids. He had to dispose of all the drawings and other proof they were ever there. He had to destroy all the proof of the monster he was. The living didn't satisfy him, he could only be content if his victims were dead. By not answering the phone he let the trail go cold.
The predatory plant represents a honeytrap, a way to lure them into his apartment. As time went on more and more cobwebs appeared. While he perfected the way of luring and trapping his victims using a web of lies, he also got entagled in them, risking getting caught. Then there is also the part where the fly preys specifically on vulnerable, hurt "children" whom no one helps. The caterpillar mentions it evolving into a bike like it could be abused like it was an object (if you consider what the riding part entails. There are two possibilities out of which backbreaking forced labor is the less horrible one).
There was an old fly who swallowed a lady. Which wiggle and sqiggled and jiggled inside it. I don't know why it swallowed the lady, perhaps it'll die, maybe?
I don't think you understand the definition of the word horror. kinda like Haunted PS1 demo disk guys, they don't get it either. Disturbing? Sure, But if you find this scary, you're probably an easy customer
At last something different. Getting sick of those indie games that take place in a house, lights are out and you only see a small circle with your sh*tty flashlight. Enough already.
