For anyone confused, the game is based on the very real story about a plane that was found in the middle of a Cambodian jungle seen through Google maps. Even the coordinates of "12°05'20"N 104°09'05"E" are identical. Hell, you can look it up right now and you'll see it is still there, although its labelled a "tourist attraction" for some reason.
Oh please let Game Grumps do this. You have no idea how funny it is for Arin to trick Danny into believing it's not a horror game is and letting him find out. PLEASE GET THEM TO PLAY THIS
What a neat idea for a game. I love how technology has changed some aspects of gaming while allowing indie devs to innovate without requiring a huge amount of money.
This game remembers me of a 4chan post last month where an anon posted some coordinates to an isolated corner of Kentucky where on Google Maps you'd see a truck with what looked like bodies in the flatbed, spooky
Got curious and looked up the coordinates of the 1st missing location on Google Maps. It leads to the Illinois River. In the 2nd map, the 1st and 4th set of coordinates leads somewhere in Tsabit, Algeria. 2nd missing location is somwhere in Metarfa, Algeria. 3rd map location is in Prongil, Cambodia near the jungle plane itself.
So the game's about a victim from a plane crash haunting its pilot through Google Maps, or the pilot looking for the plane through Google Maps out of guilt? Is that why the desert and the ocean were shown – places that the pilot wishes the crash happened because there would've been a greater chance of survival? Also, what the heck was that at the end – a monster or something? It looks like there's an eye and teeth in there.
an accurate and creepy blend between point-and-click, puzzle, AR-game and sort of "haunted program". Slow-burning horror that actually gives some creeps.
Incredibly wasted potential, tbh. Why did it have to be a plane crash? What does it have to do with the street view in the first place? You could've recreated actual street view-like horror in some city with much easier corridor-like maps (since thats how street view works) with disturbing stuff caught by google car, also would be harder to miss for a player.
There were plenty of other 'google earth anomalies' you could've based it on, like that creepy figure on the balcony. Making a game about this stuff and add few time layers – like on some streets there are 2 sets of street view images, from one lane and opposite one, dated differently – could be used for this kind of time jump mechanic, together with disturbing stuff. Like you see a creepy shadowy figure on some balcony, but move to opposite lane photos (it changes seasons too), then back – and figure is gone, you keep moving and see it elsewhere. That would be neat.

19.03.2023It's rare to see something set up a plot point so heavily and then just not pay it off. Did the creator just forget to add an ending?
