I still think alternative watch is the scariest game ever
So alternative watch is a game where you have to watch cameras at a house the rooms are basement, kitchen, baby room, dining room, living room, bedroom, and more but you have to report anomiles in the game, there is mimic where something is trying to blend in with other objects, flawed where a giant head intrudes right into the security camera, intruder is where an item just intrudes into your camera like flawed, electrical is where either a TV randomly switches on or lamps and more, occurs in baby room, basement, bedroom and living room, tulpa is where an object is only seen in mirrors, occurs in bathroom and basement, if there is to many un-reported anomiles you lose the game, you win if all anomiles are found, the living room icon is a couch, the basement icon is a shelf, the bathroom icon is a Part 2 next
I thought little nightmares was pretty good, mostly anxiety though. I want to say quite scary. Same with the back rooms. It's like a anxiety driven game I think VR maze games are the most scary
Outlast definitely scared the crap out of me, played it during the nighttime, and I was in the basement area looking for a part to open the gate and literally there was a dude chasing me down the hall and luckily I had found a desk to hide in and I had turned on my night vision on the camera and I looked on my left side and there was the same guy that'd chased me down the hallway just kneeled down looking for me. And literally, I had headphones on, and that made the experience more terrifying for me and I said " nope, I quit for now and play it when it's morning".
The thing about fear its that it very personal and i think very random.
For me i never felt fear with a film or a game until the first Paranormal Activity and i did not exept that, none of my friend exept that, everyone lughed at that movie but i was scared shitless.
I know guys in my horror group that are scared only of film like Scream.
Number 2 for me has to be dead space. the atmosphere and story, the gruesome visuals, the really good graphics, and disturbing enemies all make this game intense and fun
Soma scared the living sh*t out of me. Not only the monsters but their sound design. The claustrophobic atmosphere, story, voice acting are very immersive.
I mean lostboy.exe contained a Trojan that would steal your information and sad satan contained gore cp, as well as both normal gore and “normal” cp. so I think they win
I guess i play too safely in Alien Isolation… i never have too much trouble but i know the Alien has a few ai quirks that make it more terrifying…as a serious fan i religiously follow the survival tactics of the movies so i never trigger stuff like the xenomorph pretending not to notice the player only to rush the location after seeming to go a different direction because I'm watching the motion tracker and keeping track of exactly where the real xenomorph is.
No other game has scared me more than playing amnesia the first time back in 2012ish. Back when I was 13. It terrified me so much that any noise would have me running into a closet ingame and being unwilling to even peek out for like 5min. (This was in the earlier portions of the game, don't get me starter on the later portions.)
