That literally means, it is AFRAID of DIRECT EYE CONTACT. To scare it away…you stare into its soul! Not LOOK AWAY!.
Canine language my guy, you stare at it and dont breal contact, you assert dominance, it runs away for a time. You turn away, it sees you are weak, and it charges you.
That is why at the end, when you looked at it, it stood still. But THE MOMENT YOU LOOKED AWAY, it attacked you. You showed you were weak, and it was the Alpha.
